when I think about our small planet
in this vast universe
and myself as one person in billions
I am led to draw one conclusion
we are all equal
in our insignificance
though some people may enjoy higher intelligence
than others
pitted against the universe even genius
amounts to nothing
There is one thing I absolutely know is true
I know nothing. I may be conscious of knowing myself
but even that experience is always changing
in admitting to knowing nothing I am not confessing ignorance
